Support the execution and management of 20-50 ongoing fluid power, mechanical and or automation projects ranging from $1,000 to $500,000 (USDs) that range 1 – 5 months in duration.Directly manage projects while managing, coaching and developing my team. ‘Hands on’ leadership style in a fast paced, customer focused environment.Support and manage a team of of 3 - 8 project managers, engineers and design/drafters to manufacture customized industrial hydraulic, mechatronic and control systems.Coordinate with multiple internal and external organizations including engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and sales to deliver project documents while managing risk of any technical deviations or scope changes. Contributes to the continuous improvement of internal processes utilizing mapping techniques. Drive customer satisfaction during project execution: including customer change-orders, equipment inspections, technical deviations, project status transparency and documentation.Facilitate weekly team meetings and communicate to Sr. management as needed. General:Create schematics, BOMs, detailed assembly models, and part drawings. I typically use quotation documents and specifications to guide the design and engineering process. I coordinate with purchasing other engineering team members and manufacturing to have project documentation available and on schedule. I would be a technical resource for manufacturing and support all project details through completion and start up.Primary Responsibilities:Project Manager and Design engineer. Working Assembly Supervisor. Ensure Hydraulic power units and mechanical assemblies are built according to Engineering drawings. Instill quality standards and corporate values. Assist and advise other technicians with daily assembly activities. Work with Engineering to ensure and clarify project details. Maintain shop machinery, procure shop material as needed.System testing and evaluation, data acquisition and customer witness testing. Connect recording and test devices: Pressure, Flow, temperature and other devices as needed. Evaluate circuit design, establish optimum pump settings and other pressure control devices. Test systems to demonstrate and verify performance. Troubleshoot as necessary. Special Project Installer/Working crew leader for field operations. Travel to various locations around southeast US installing hydraulic power units, components and implementing system upgrades and/or rebuilds. Worked primarily with time & execution critical projects (shut down work). Locations were heavy industry: Steel/Paper Mills, Ship/wood yards, Plastics/Rubber/Tire plants, bottling and recycling companies etc.. Piping system planning, design and implementation. On-site pipe welding, Tube & hose fabrication, machine rental & operation: scissor lifts, JLGs etc. Schedule and coordinate with plant operations, outside contractors etc. to minimize downtime and ensure on-time completion.System Technician/Hydraulic Fabricator: Hydraulic component assembly, pumps valves, manifolds etc.. Lead welding technician, pipe/structural stainless and carbon steel. Fabricate hose and tube assemblies and system layouts. Fabricate hydraulic systems, valve and accumulator stands. System testing and performance evaluation. Used a variety of painting/prep methods & materials: I acquired numerous welding qualifications in this position including ASME section IX pipe, carbon and stainless steel as well as AWS D1.1 structural all positions.
