• Senior VP, Business Development (2000-2001): Contributed to the development of Discovery’s overall corporate business development strategy, with special emphasis on identifying new business opportunities that extend lines of business; coordinated a company-wide analysis of opportunities to expand the children’s businesses marketed in the U.S. and internationally under the “Discovery Kids” brand.• Senior VP, Discovery/BBC Ventures (1998-2000): Oversaw the strategic development and implementation of all aspects of Discovery’s sweeping partnership with the BBC, entailing over $600 million of committed investment in program production, the launch and operation of global joint venture television channels (Animal Planet and People+Arts), and the marketing and distribution of BBC America.• Senior VP, Operations & Administration and Deputy to the President, Discovery Networks, U.S. (1996-1998): Oversaw operations for Discovery’s U.S. network television division, its core business unit ($700 million+ in annual revenue), including oversight of: business plan development, launch and operation of Discovery’s digital networks; key operational departments (80+ employees); and personnel activity across 500+ employee division.• VP, Program Acquisitions & Development and Production Management (1993-96): Led departments responsible for handling all acquisitions and co-productions, coordinating the development of original production, and managing business affairs, budgets and delivery requirements for more than 3,000 hours and $100,000,000 of documentary television production annually; lead negotiator for key programming and production-related supply agreements.
