IT Project Manager: While the Georgetown SC plant was idled, I continued as the sole IT support for the Georgetown facility for the limited personnel remaining. In addition, I was requested to provide on-site support for the Harriman TN facility. The prior 2 IT employees on-site at Harriman had been recently released leaving no local support or cross-training available. Basically, I was dropped cold into an unknown environment and had to adapt quickly. In addition, I was asked to assist with implementing SAP and MES at Harriman during the time period. Adaptive - Dropped cold into AM plant with no prior knowledge of systems. I assumed sole IT support for hardware and software with major issues and pending SAP upgrade. Converted plant within one-year period in conjunction with the Laplace LA facility.IT Support - Provided desktop, network, server, printer, and telephony support, including upgrades for approximately 300 devices and 120 employees.SAP/MES - Transitioned Harriman from proprietary software to SAP with MES tracking for entire facility of 120 employees. Project included personally installing and configuring new PCs and printers. Printers in production areas included laser in specialized cabinets, Zebra thermal printers for tags, and label printers for Storeroom barcoding. Network - Coordinated total revamp of the fiber network to all areas. Included all new Cisco equipment with redundancy, installation of 25 switches/routers, and 17 wireless APs for production and shipping.Training Center – Set up Training Center/War Room and installed and configured 10 PCs, network, and printer in on-site building for SAP and MES implementation training for all personnel.

This proved to be a challenging offer that required the rapid restart of the plant with a greatly reduced IT and plant workforce. Start-Up - IT start-up from bankruptcy, adopted new corporate IT policies, hired entire IT staff, purchased new PCs and software licenses, and conducted supplier negotiation to reinstate licenses (Oracle Database, Lotus Notes, Ross Financials).Budget - Managed annual IT budget averaging $1 million including specialized Quarterly Corporate Analysis.E-mail Conversion - Transitioned approximately 150 e-mail accounts from local Lotus Domino-Notes to ISG Corporate Exchange servers.Domain Conversion - Transitioned approximately 1,000 networked devices to ISG active directory forest and newly assigned IP address range.Tabware - Transitioned ~150 users from Ross Financials Purchasing, Raw Materials, and A/P to customized AssetPoint TabWare cloud solution used by all ISG sites.

A month later, I became the only IT person remaining to support all daily operations and work with the lawyers and potential buyers.Bankruptcy: Chosen as sole IT person to remain to assist during bankruptcy to keep systems operational for ~10 employees. I accepted the position and assumed the support responsibilities of the exiting staff member which had become significant due to recent downsizing. Y2K Solution: Designed, developed, and supported in-house ERP solution at contract cost of ~$250,000. In-house solution eliminated purchase & on-going support cost versus spending millions of dollars for SAP plus ongoing support.
