I am working in the Accounting Department with my primary focus being Accounts Payable and balancing of General Ledger Accounts for the Financial Institution. My goal is to learn the Accounts Payable Network, as well as, the laws and regulations that govern this network by obtaining my Accounts Payable Certification. In conjunction with the Accounts Payable knowledge, I will strive to find better ways to make this a streamlined process with the use of the new technologies that will result in a positive impact to the bottom line.

As a Checking Department Coordinator I was involved providing bank wide assistance and in various capacities. Collaboration and team work was a vital part in this position. My role included having a knowledge and understanding of Federal Rules and Regulations as they applied to the Financial Industry, Account Research, Checking Account resolutions, returns and adjustments, in depth knowledge of various payment systems such as the ACH network, Wire Transfers both domestic and international and ATM/Debit card network. The department was responsible for the purchasing and selling of international currencies as well. Internal and external customer service was a vital part of this role. This position included being able to work with local/regional payment associations and with various other financial institutions such as WACHA, NACHA, Bankers' Bank and the Federal Reserve Bank.

Overdrafts, wire transfers, customer service (internal & external), account balancing and compliance to federal and state regulations. During my time there I earned the Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) accreditation. I hold this accreditation to this day.
