My specialty is building a dynamic communications program and finding the best way to advance a cause or brand using strong visuals and writing. I am a former breaking news journalist and multimedia reporter who has worked with global health and medical researchers at the University of Washington and nurses throughout the state. In media relations, I have worked with hundreds of reporters, including NBC News, CNN, ABC News, STAT, BBC, Forbes, AARP, New York Times, Seattle Times, Spokesman Review, CNBC, CBC, NPR, and local reporters throughout Washington and Oregon. After working for the L.A. Business Joyrnal, The Oakland Tribune, MSNBC, and the Seattle Times, I started a consulting business writing papers and grants for HIV/AIDS researchers in Seattle and Peru and consulting with nonprofits. I became the first communications director for the newly formed University of Washington's Department of Global Health where I laid the groundwork for a very successful communications program.I've been working with causes most of my life. I helped run a nonprofit for unemployed coffee workers in Nicaragua and promoted fair trade coffee in churches.
