As Digital Specialist in the Marketing Department, I was responsible for the content of the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital website and social media platforms. I led a team through a redesign of the website in 2021. Since the launch in September, page views for the hospital have increased and users have been able to access rehabilitation services easier. I also managed multiple social media campaigns to recruit new employees during a time when competition for medical professionals was high.

I managed the station's digital news products, social media and assignment desk staff. During my 4+ years at FOX 17, we grew our Facebook page to #2 in the market in followers, from #4, by launching "online only" productions, like short video versions of important news stories of the day and a "web-first" restaurant review segment. We also produced interactive brackets and polls which increased audience participation with the on-air product.I worked with our technical staff to make live streaming of events seamless, enabling us to get online with live, breaking news events as fast, or sometimes faster, than we could get on TV.

I was responsible for news content on www.wzzm13.com. I wrote and edited content for the website, and edited video for posting. During this time when social media became influential, I worked with station leadership on determining the strategies and best practices for implementing the platforms as they became available. I worked on two different proprietary CMS platforms and trained newsroom staff on their functions.

As Communications Director for the American Heart Association regionally, I was responsible for promoting the events and messaging throughout the Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Lansing areas. I wrote press releases and advisories, coordinated media appearances and prepared volunteers for media interviews. I wrote scripts for fundraising events, such as Heart Walks and Galas as well.

Volunteer on area service projects including Jaycees Santa Parade, Farmers Charity Classic Senior PGA Golf tournament and other events. Served two years on Board of Directors for the Jaycees and one year on Executive Committee of the Senior PGA Golf event.

I worked part-time handling remote and studio video productions with volunteers.
