Procure development company contract and direct builds for the ORCA (One Regional Card for All (public transportation)) website. Oversee commissioning and live testing of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge toll system, automated truck weighing system, and FastTrack (passenger vehicle automated toll) hardware and software.

General administrative support, maintain contract files, attend weekly client meetings and take, publish, and distribute precise and contractually binding meeting minutes. Contact and interview weekly, the engineering staff for a multi-site, multi-discipline, $16 million fiber optic ring construction project for Puget Sound and surrounding areas, and update and distribute a 2200-line Microsoft Project construction schedule. Self-appointed as the office ‘go-to-guy’ for all office equipment (I can fix anything and everything); self-appointed as the Network Administrator by replacing the office ‘network’ from a 56k modem, single 386 PC file server to high-speed cable, Cisco router, Cisco switch, Windows Server DHCP, DNS, Domain Controller with print services, and a file management system. Self-appointed as the purchaser for both internal and external clients from a non-existing credit, 25-day check writing and long approval process lead time, to one day drop ship availability by establishing 100k credit with technology providers, a robust approval process, and eventually centralized all U.S. based IBI GROUP internal and external client hardware, technology, and software purchasing through the Seattle office.

Design/build professional 2000sq ft 24 channel ADAT recording studio. Install neoprene floated 3” concrete floor 6” thick staggered stud 13’x 13’ drum room and 2x vocal/amp isolation booths, control booth walls, and all infrastructure including electrical, lighting, XLR snakes, patch bays, custom desk, outboard racks, computer system, and audio monitoring system. Built out an additional 1200sq ft two-bedroom living space. Recorded a personal album, artist: ‘Flow’, album: ‘America.’ Recently re-released via TuneCore (available on all streaming markets).

Administrative support for Director, Research Director, and seven U.S. policy researchers (Far East, Asia, and the Middle East). Maintained a small research library and an extensive worldwide contact database. Worldwide travel, event, and conference planning.

Manufacturing Planner for all Office products in North America. Maintained a $12 billion inventory. Crystal Reports master planning, Excel spreadsheet weekly build schedule for full Office Suite and each individual Application and licensing packs. Check raw material stock and create BOMs/release work orders in a just-in-time, lean Kanban, world-class manufacturing environment. Microsoft manufacturing was completely outsourced ahead of digital download.

Two Supervisor positions held simultaneously, working as both the dayshift and nightshift supervisor. 30 to 40 team members and temporary hires. Interview, hire, and release team members. Capacity planning using equivalent unit metrics, assign builds to teams, review BOMs and release to manufacturing, design and implement new build processes, new product build planning, new equipment training, safety assessments, product quality feedback, assign cross-training for team members (skill-based compensation program). Intensive biannual cross-peer performance wage and stock compensation review process. Concurrent position with East Coast Operations Manager below.

Manage operations for East Coast outsourced manufacturing for Windows 95 Operating System and the concurrent Office 95 product releases. Previously and in preparation of, hire, train, and supervise Microsoft Skill Block Trainers (see next) into the Offsite Manufacturing Team. Lead the Team to train 3rd party raw material suppliers, duplication facilities, and finished product manufacturers the Microsoft Quality Management System requirements. Monitor 3rd party test builds and relocate capacity from failed manufacturing sites to other regions/cities. 47 million units of Windows 95 built from all manufacturing sites in the first week of software release.

Developer of the Microsoft Manufacturing Skill Block Training Program. Designed, documented, and trained 20 team members on how to write modules and on how to train others in their designated job functions. The Skill Block Trainers (SBTs) wrote the book on retail software manufacturing in every aspect of process, from incoming raw materials, to duplication of media, to shipping (distribution) and all the machines, processes, and the concepts of manufacturing (like Kanban, BOMs, equivalent unit metrics, etc.) in a simple easy to teach/learn module format. Outbreak from this process: The Microsoft Quality Management System, ISO 9002 Certification (certified 10/94), an internal cross-training program with wage compensation, and an expert team to train 3rd party manufacturers with a ready-to-go document vehicle for quality compliance.
