Primary operational function is full support for EPCM work. Project HSE Director AMEC/WorleyParsons, Shell - Shell Athabasca Oil Sands Project, Upstream Expansion 1, 2007- April 2010. Senior member of construction management team for joint venture as prime contractor with AMEC/Colt-WorleyParsons. Current capacity of existing facility is 155,000 barrels per day (BPD) of synthetic crude, with potential to achieve production licenses of 770,000 BPD. Currently the project consists of the Muskeg River Mine and the Scotford Upgrader, located in Alberta. A 100,000 BPD expansion is under way to include the construction of mining and extraction facilities at Jackpine Mine. Additional development planned includes expansion of Froth Treatment Facilities at existing Muskeg River Mine; expansion of Scotford Upgrader; and development of common infrastructure such as power transmission lines, roads, camps, and site pipelines to support future expansions. Duties include all aspects of safety management for the mega-project, reporting to the Director of Safety. Supervise 28 project safety managers and 14 medical professionals within the project Health Center. Manpower management consists of overseeing 112 direct contractors. -
