I am a Level II Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Also, I am a professional in the industry with a proven track record for sales as well as a graduate of the premiere, nine-month Accelerated Wine and Beverage Certificate Program (AWBP4) held at The Culinary Institute of America, Greystone (CIA). While in school, I worked as the Cellar Sommelier at the (CIA) in the Beverage Cellar and as a Fine Wine Specialist for Dean & DeLuca in St. Helena, California. I am a Certified Wine Professional and TIPs Certified through the CIA. Prior to arriving in St. Helena to attend AWBP4 I was the Wine and Beer Buyer for Dean & DeLuca in the Georgetown area where I planned, selected and maintained a $300,000 wine inventory. I have led and trained the sales force for several retail wine teams and have over eight years sales experience, three of which are in the service industry. My experience has taught me that each beverage introduced into the marketplace (regardless of price point), in the right context, has more opportunities than challenges. As such, I have extensive experience of successfully selling wines at and substantially over the $15 price point. I have a firm grasp of the three-tier system and what accounts are looking to purchase and when from my experiences as a Buyer, Wine Manager and Wine Supervisor. Moreover, coming from both a managerial and teaching backgrounds has taught me that working closely with my colleagues not only produces results but nurtures relationships that create leaders. And that is what I am a leader. A leader that looks, listens, learns and then creates practical plans that drive sales.
