Lighting Department Inventory And Warehouse Lead
CurrentDominion Energy is a vertically integrated electric utility which consist of many different departments. I work in the Lighting Department for the Lowcountry.1.) I created our system for maintaining the Lighting Department inventory. (For example; lighting fixtures and lighting poles). - The system I created for the Lighting warehouse and the pole yard identifies specific locations and quantities for all Lighting merchandise. Including a layout that makes it easy for anyone to track down the exact location for any fixture or pole they need. - The updated inventory is counted and emailed to the entire department once a week.2.) I created the Environmental Waste procedures for the Lighting department. - I organized SDS Sheets in a binder for all potentially toxic chemicals we keep in stock for field use. The chemicals are stored in a certified toxic chemical cabinet. (Such as; All-purpose PVC cement, 2-26 Lubricant, paint, bug spray, dog repellent, etc.). - The Lighting capacitors waste procedure was already in place upon my arrival to the company. However, I maintain that as well. Capacitors will come back from the field and will be placed in their designated 55-gallon drum labelled "PCB Leaking", "PCB non-leaking", "Non-PCB Leaking", or "Non-PCB Non-leaking".3.) Fixture repair is another significant part of my job that was not originally in this job description. I started doing this to help the company save money. I was noticing too many fixtures were being disposed of unnecessarily. I'm able to salvage about 50% of all fixtures brought back from the field. - If a fixture is "confirmed good" I write down the fixture ID or information into a spreadsheet. Once the spreadsheet is full I have them put back into inventory.4.) Handling all incoming and outgoing shipments for the lighting dept. Fixtures and poles come straight from the manufacturer via freight. I will then put everything into their designated locations.
