My partner and I spent the year traveling (3+ months in South America), attending to family matters, and volunteering!As part of my volunteering efforts, I helped friends and family members add solar panels and electrify major appliances across three states (Virginia, North Carolina, and Colorado).

Grand opened the CarMax branch in Vancouver, WA (Portland market) as the Location General Manager - Hired and trained a staff of 3 managers, 20 cross functional associates, and 2 auto technicians - Responsible for Sales, DMV compliance, Vehicle Purchasing, and Vehicle Repair metrics and performance along Associate Development and EngagementKey Accomplishments:- The store has exceeded all Key Performance Metrics in its first two, customer service scores in the Top 5 percent of the company, and was recognized as a Top 10 performing store across the company (200+ locations) in 3 of the first 12 months- Promoted more associates and managers to the next level than any other store in the region- Served as the training store for two teams preparing for grand opening based on Vancouvers GO successIn addition to running the store, I have completed several initiatives that have been influenced strategy and daily operations of CarMax locations across the country

I sold leadership on taking on this project, and developed a new strategy that increased overall sales by 3% and made CarMax an additional $10mil annually in additional profit.

I supported the CarMax sales team through data analytics and research and development. Skills employed included extensive Excel and SQL coding, PowerBI report building, and frequent store visits for observations and experimentation. My main project was building an alogorithm to recommend cars from 35,000+ vehicle inventory based on customer preferences, resulting in a 10% increase in conversion to sale at pilot stores and was built into CarMax’s Customer Management System for all stores
