I have spent my twenty-one year career following my passion of educating and motivating people to be their best. Being involved not only in the corporate world but also in college athletics has allowed me to grow as a person and leader. Looking back I realize those experiences have allowed me to develop many skills that I can now bring to the Corporate World. My resume is a bit unique; therefore, I will take a moment to describe some of the skills that I feel are most important. I believe one of the most valuable characteristics of being a leader that I have developed throughout my career is a determined work ethic. Any leader must instill the proper values in the people he is associated with and accept the responsibility of leading by example, perceptiveness is the secret. The mark of a leader is a person who can lead himself. A leader must have wisdom to plan, courage to act and capability to manage. I will be a man of character, honesty, integrity and someone who earns peoples respect. In my previous career as a football coach, I may not have had sales after my name, but a large portion of my job and day to day interactions was all about selling my school, my program, my philosophy, and convincing athletes to buy into me and what I had to offer. In both recruiting and sales the initial contact, development of a relationship and the closing are comparable. Convincing a young man and his family that your institution is better than others is very similar to convincing a potential client that your product is better than the opposition. I have acquired determination, independence, initiative, perseverance, and the ability to learn quickly and apply that learning proactively. I am confident that with my organizational, oral, and interpersonal skills I can contribute significantly if given the chance.
