After 15 years of work, work, work I decided to take 5. Me time. I’ve had annual leave but nothing more than 2-3 weeks a year. 10 months of not thinking about I.T and work.

During my 12 month stay at SNAP as I helped the IT manager to relocate the Services desk from WA to Sydney.During this time I successfully consolidated approximately 30 Virtual and physical server’s therefor reducing Admin overhead and power consumption at head office and the Data Centres. During this time I scheduled after hours downtime for firmware and software upgrades for the HP Blades, EVA, SAN storage and any other servers on the SNAP Network. Also installed HPSIM to monitor or physical servers and equipment to send out alerts to the helpdesk. Tasks and Accomplishments:• Installing and configuring VMware ESX/ ESXi servers. Backup strategies for virtual machines.• Supporting multiple MS Hyper-V and VMware ESX (vSphere, vCentre, ESXi servers in a cluster environment for business critical applications.• Administrating and supporting MS SQL server from 2000 to 2008R2• Supporting HP EVA 4000 Storage groups. Creating and deleting LUNS.• Supporting and maintain Exchange 2003 and 2007 Server• Installed HP SIM for monitoring all Server hardware and Network devices.• Created a single Kix Script for all SNAP User when login on the network.• Installed and configured Cisco switch with 5 VLAN. Originally was meant to be a 12 months contract but was extended up to 4 years. During my stay at MTUDDA I was able to grasp new technologies and provide support to the infrastructure manager. This included the HP Blades, SAN storage and also upgrades for the Kronos WFC as part of the time keeping clocks. MTUDDA's network branched out to 19 sites and two data centres with approximately 1100 users. This included aprox 80 winnet and 20 Linux servers that are been backup by CA/ARCserve and HP Data Protector. Tasks and Accomplishments: • Support large number of users locally and across many remote sites. Encompassing a wide range of hard and software skills: Windows and MS Office environment, remote access, servers, laptops and desktops.• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support to 1100 users over several sites. Working in an extremely high-pressure environment where first time fixes are vital to ensure continued production.• Install and configure HP SIM for all Server hardware and Network devices monitoring.• Ensure that nightly backup run successfully. • Managing the upgrade of Kronos Work Force Central (HR and Payroll time keeper) to the current service packs. Tested and rolled out in the Production environment.• Documentation the Data Base refresh of Kronos production to TEST environment.• Installing and configuring VMware ESX/ ESXi servers. Successfully setup the LAN/WAN network and the NT4 domain for NMHG during the initial Australian business started up.
