I also am a member of the Wessex Route Crime Working Group and a former director of ACoRP for 3 years. I also regularly attend the All Party Parliamentary Rail Group meetings in Westminster. My work is as wide as it is diverse but in a nutshell it’s about encouraging people to use public transport through a raft of schemes and initiatives working with Local Authorities, private business, Community organisations, transport operators and the Police, giving me the opportunity to work at both grass roots to Central Government. This ensures that projects delivered are disseminated across all organisations showing our integrated transport links for commuters and visitors with marketing initiatives, safer stations and station regeneration projects. The very recent report from ACoRP’s the ‘Value of Community Rail’ gives a clear and verified indication on how well CRP’s are doing across England Wales and recently Scotland as not for profit organisations, helping to achieve national, regional and local aims and objectives for all in difficult financial times, where targets still have to be met with depleted resources and tighter budgets.I still also work across all sectors as a Health Consultant mapping projects to share best practice and writing bids securing funding to help to deliver projects helping to improve healthy lifestyles for the SE Region. This has included securing money for community gyms, grow cook and eat programs in schools which included funding for new and improved facilities, woodland trails in schools and organisations to encourage young people to enjoy the outdoors whilst learning about our surroundings and finally helping sports clubs with funding bids for new facilities and equipment. This is all done through my own business, Fit 4 Life Southern Ltd. Show less
