CurrentOur Vision is to effect, in a local way, the quality of life amid certain specific sectors of the community. Existing social resource leaves many yet at a deficit, missing the personalized attention and assistance required. Ours is an initiative (outreach)—sometimes by request, no need to apply: an outreach on our part, to respond to obvious and near needs, particularly within the Detroit Metropolis. We refuse to ignore, and continue to respond to obvious need. Already we’ve provided tutoring and mentoring within local district schools: 1) grades 1-8, tutoring in language (vocabulary), reading, and math; 2) life skills and mentoring, particularly with “at risk” young males; 3) structured “topic lessons,” to single parents through workshops, which assist in practical ways—bettering parenting skills. There is a need to assist in the navigation of “bureaucratic requirement and resource,” which facilitate the success of family; 4) we likewise respond to a most essential need among seniors and the disabled—a need for transportation to appointments etc.; 5) we’ve effected the homeless in both the practical and emotional—feeding, (counseling and consoling), as well as a recent drive to provide coats for the homeless as winter is upon us. Again, ours are hands that help, where the need is observed: youth development, indigent rescue, and senior facilitation. Our methodology is at times linear amid varying project types, events and efforts. And on numerous occasions, services become extended processes and activities, where we enlist and manage logistically the promotion of a “self-help mechanism,” where in parallel multiple deeds of service are accomplished.
