Bobby Yung serves as the President and Creative Director of Yung Atelier, where he leverages over forty years of expertise in design and manufacturing. Specializing in custom furniture and couture window treatments for the high end residential market, Bobby is a trusted resource in the interior design industry, known for his ability to meet the refined tastes of top designers and eminent clients, through meaningful partnerships with a broad spectrum of distinguished decision-makers. Born on Chicago’s Southside, Bobby’s exposure to diverse cultures shaped his leadership approach. As a first generation American with roots in Myanmar and Kenya, his background informs his vision for an inclusive organization that values diversity, collaboration and creative excellence.Bobby studied entrepreneurship and communications at Pepperdine University, where he developed an interest in organizational development and design. He joined Yung Atelier in 2013, apprenticing in product design and manufacturing. In 2019, he spearheaded Paesím, a project exploring zero-waste production that brought a collection and narrative to life, culminating in an unsolicited and unpaid feature in GQ. In 2024, Bobby established Yung Atelier’s 2,000-square-foot gallery, showcasing its inaugural furniture collection, bespoke offerings, and curated collaborations with renowned textile maisons. With influences from Wabi-Sabi, Art Nouveau, and Classic design, the gallery honors craftsmanship and provides a space for clients to connect with Yung Atelier’s work on a deeper level. This milestone reflects Bobby’s focus on merging originality and tradition while strengthening relationships within the design community.Today, Bobby continues to form meaningful partnerships with select design partners and clients, guiding the Yung Atelier team to synthesize vision and navigate various design philosophies.
