Anthony “Bobby” Afshar is Managing Director of LehmanBush’s Shanghai Office and heads up the firm’s Wealth Management and Commodities Practices. Bobby represents special opportunity funds, private equity groups, and their portfolio companies in a wide variety of financing opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region, with particular emphasis in China, India, and Southeast Asia. His practice covers a wide range of complex, cross-border corporate transactions including private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and venture investments. With more than a decade of experience in international legal practice Bobby continues to advise clients across a variety of industries on corporate governance and regulatory concerns such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti Money Laundering Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Foreign Assets Control Regulations, International Tariffs, and Capital Control Regimes.Prior to joining LehmanBush, Mr. Afshar worked in a leading global law firm based in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong and served as Foreign Legal Counsel to the National Intellectual Property Administration of China. His secondments include time with a US based real estate fund and an Asian based cryptocurrency exchange.
