• Manages the daily operation of a large research laboratory. Orders an extensive list of supplies (chemical/biological/animal/office) utilized by numerous staff and students. Maintains detailed excel files utilized for inventory and data tracking. Purchases expensive lab equipment, ensures their proper installation and maintenance, and designs laboratory space according to EH&S/Cal OSHA safety standards. Works closely with environmental health survey teams to review, analyze and implement federal and state regulations and compiles extensive regulatory documentation.• Supervise a SRA 11, graduate student and eight under-grad students. Maintains detailed personnel files, completes performance evaluations, and participates in the hiring process. Develops lab protocol materials and conducts extensive lab protocol training for Bio. and Pharm. Sci. 199 students, laboratory assistants and professors. Develops training materials and conducts site specific safety training for all staff, and is familiar with IBC, IRB, and IACUC application processes.• Performs a wide variety of experiments with human and mouse cell lines, human and mouse tissue, 3D- skin reconstruction and mouse subjects. Plans, organizes and takes complete charge of the execution of several ongoing projects. Writes, edits and modifies clinical and research protocols, analyzes and summarizes data for presentations in weekly meetings and major conferences. Edits journal articles, grant applications, and writes/ edits IBC, IRB and IACUC applications.
