I have been professionally involved in education for 40 years, having taught for 22 years before becoming an education manager with a national organisation.I have worked as a teacher, lecturer, senior lecturer, head of department, examiner, principal examiner, and led a number of national developments relating to Computing/IT qualifications in Scotland. My main teaching subject is Computing but I have also taught Mathematics and Statistics.My main professional interests are pedagogy, learning, assessment, computer science and data science.I have been published in a number of national and international journals, and gave lectures in universities in the UK and Europe, including Cambridge University, Zurich University and the University of Madrid. My paper on moderning assessment ("Assessment 2.0") has been published in various journals and translated into several languages. My "Guide to Writing Objective Tests" has been read more than 100,000 times.I am Prince 2 certified (Practitioner).My present position involves the development and maintenance of national qualifications in Scotland. I have previously been responsible the management of school examinations in Scotland (Computing Studies).
