As a dedicated healthcare professional with over 10 years of experience in community health, urgent care, and clinical laboratory settings, I cultivated a deep passion and interest in delivering high quality patient care and advocating for community health. This led to my pursue for nursing, and this journey has taken me from shelter settings to critical care hospital settings, where I honed my skills in clinical assessment, patient care, and healthcare education. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working and learning in diverse settings, including People Assisting The Homeless (PATH), Santa Barbara Street Medicine, Sansum clinics, Sustainable Health Empowerment (SHE), and Child Family Health International (CFHI). My work with houseless populations as an EMT and my involvement in public health urban farming project as a graduate nursing student have further deepened my understanding of the social determinants of health - I'm committed to reducing healthcare disparities and empowering underserved communities through education and preventive care.In addition to my clinical training and experience, I am passionate about mentoring and educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. I have led CPR simulations for high school students, conducted workshops on healthcare and nursing career tracks, and provided guidance to undergraduate students interested in nursing.As I look forward to the next chapter to begin my nursing career, I am excited to continue to seek opportunities in creating a positive impact in healthcare and communities, whether through direct patient care, global health initiatives, or community outreach programs.
