As a result of Traveloka's growth, Accommodation Search and Engineering Quality became dedicated teams dealing with ever-growing projects, and I was trusted to lead both teams due to my experience in the previous role. I was leading 3 members of Search team and 2 members of Quality team.Search team was responsible for everything related to discovering accommodations: autocomplete, sorting and filtering properties based on multiple dynamic criteria, and ranking. Quality team focused on improving both our engineers' developer experience and our systems reliability as a whole.Successes of my teams included improving accuracy of price-based search by 80% through precomputing accurate price data, doubling inventory sourcing cache hit ratio by optimizing memcached calls to use multi-get feature, distributing previously-centralized infra management which reduced provisioning wait time from months into hours, dismantling monorepo to speed up build times and code review process, as well as participating in system design reviews for new features, focusing on reliability and scalability issues.Even as a lead, I'm a software engineer at heart, so I often became a discussion partner with my team members to solve engineering problems in their projects.

Worked with Java, Kotlin, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Terraform, and AWS (EC2, ElastiCache, ALB, etc.) in Traveloka Accommodation team. Our team was responsible a system of microservices consisting of 20+ service clusters with 90+ load-balanced AWS EC2 instances.Midway through, I was trusted with two important responsibilities: the person-in-charge for Accommodation Search which deals with features that allows our users to find properties that matches their preference, as well as the technical evangelist for the team which ensures our engineers are following engineering best practices.My achievements this role includes reducing core services monthly downtime by 80% by doing service dependency audits and adding circuit breakers, improving hotel search performance (reducing latency by 70%) through multithreading and cutting down bottlenecks, establishing production changes accountability standard checklists, enabling agile but safe releases, as well as designing and promoted usages of feature toggles to decouple features from releases, improving safety of deployments.

A career education start-up I helped launch.Worked full stack with Node.js, Express.js, React.js + Redux, MySQL, and NGINX. Launched the product by building the frontend, backend APIs, databases, from dev to deployments. Maintained separate server environments for testing and production. Leveraged Cloudinary as a CDN for user uploaded images, optimizing storage cost by 30-40%. Enabled zero-downtime deployments by adding redundancy for app instances and doing rolling upgrades.
