Responsible for implementing a Grassroots Legislative Affairs Initiative in the Great Lakes Region. Every Member of Congress in the Region is to be contacted by a constituent in his/her district to make the Member aware of the Navy League and the needs of the Sea Services (Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine).

I helped lead the effort to assist the Navy in commissioning the nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine, USS Illinois. In addition to co-organizing and co-leading a committee of volunteers, I shared responsibility for raising $400,000+ and planning for activities for the public and the ship's crew.

In addition to organizing and leading a committee of volunteers, I was responsible for raising $500,000+ and planning for activities for the public and the ship's crew.
