Most of my skills I learned as a volunteer for Head Start, Cub Scouts, and the local youth football and cheerleading league. The time I spent with Cub Scouts I started as an assistant leader of the Tigers and moved up with my son as a leader or assistant until our pack needed a Cub Master. I was the Assistant Cub Master on paper because I figured it was better to have my husband as the face of the Cub Master. In the scouts and in Head Start, I was responsible for planning fund raisers and outings, I was the treasurer for both groups at one point in my years involved. I was responsible for keeping everyone up to date on any changes, keeping records of the scouts personal and pack information, such as the progress the boys had made towards earning badges and pins and then to purchase those and present them. I was also responsible for planning events such as award ceremony and banquet. I was a leader for the scouts day camps in the summer and responsible for helping grow the pack by recruiting more boys.I was the Team Mom for the youth cheerleading program my girls were in. As such, my responsibilities were to keep the personal information of the girls organized, keep track of schedule and inform parents of any changes. I was responsible for scheduling the parents of my team with their volunteer obligations. And I would also step up to assist the league in any way they need.
