Primary responsibilities include building an enterprise data platform and executing digital transformation throughout the organization. Farm Journal is the recognized leader in B2B agriculture content, data and business insights. The Company’s broad portfolio of content channels – including magazines, broadcast, websites, events, enewsletters, social and mobile audiences and other online offerings – feed the most robust demographic and behavioral database and the largest collection of 1st party data in the industry . Farm Journal is also majority owner of the leading used farm equipment marketplace, Machinery Pete, LLC.

My primary role is to empower internal and external stakeholders to collaborate and innovate, in the development and management of disruptive products and services, in the agricultural equipment marketplace. MachineryPete is a subsidiary of Farm Journal.

End-to-end architecture, development and deployment of dozens of B2B / B2C products and services in a high-availability, client-server, private cloud infrastructure. Innovative operational frameworks and practices led to inherent scalability and robust quality with greatly reduced development and ongoing support expenditures.• Optimized architectures and lean/agile development processes for highly-profitable products and services producing residual income for years-to-decades with near zero-investment beyond initial, iterative, bi-weekly development cycles. Full responsibility for design, development, testing and deployment of multiple key components of a nationwide cable-telephony system. Responsibilities included matrix managing several, cross-functional, internal and external engineering and operational teams in multiple locations domestically and internationally for the first several program releases. Managed my own internal department of more than 50 engineers. • Initiated a takeover of a contractor-led development of the system management component which had experienced complete failure in the field.. Orchestrated a re-architecture and new development effort building a new team of 25 engineers and going from less than 1% uptime to 99.99% uptime in ten months, effectively saving a nine-figure, multi-year, multi-vendor contract.• Successfully executed two technology transfers resulting in significant reductions in development effort and significant increases in system functionality and reliability.• Spearheaded a new recruiting and training process resulting in hiring dozens of new engineers over a few months during the peak of the telephony-deregulation job boom resulting in zero turnover of staff during my tenure.• Investigated and resolved a critical, production-stopping issue deep in the real-time hardware / software interface on our custom boards - leveraging my cross-platform knowledge and experience in hardware and software.

Responsible for software development on a cardiac angiography imaging system. Analyzed and drove solutions to a dozen or so critical system issues that presented themselves in clinical environments with live patients. Time was of the essence and the issues escaping our internal test processes were very complex, and often were related to the real-time interactions between low-level software and hardware. • Innovated debug functionality to allow capture and retrieval of critical fault data in production equipment in live, clinical settings in the field to reduce defect resolution time by a factor of 10.
