Quality Assurance Officer
Current• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures designed to ensure laboratory data are accurate, well-documented, and meet requirements specified by Quality Assurance Programs and the laboratory’s clients• Maintain a general knowledge of all laboratory operations• Perform internal audits• Develop, implement, and document Corrective Actions to address internal and external audit findings• Maintain laboratory accreditations and associated quality assurance requirements• Administer laboratory’s Performance Testing (PT) program• Calculate and publish laboratory’s control limits• Conduct annual review of laboratory’s Quality Assurance Plan and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)• Document client complaints and initiate subsequent responses via Corrective Actions program• Maintain and update technical training records for all laboratory personnel• Manage traceability and quality control records for all analytical standards and reagent supplies• Maintain calibration, maintenance, and repair records for all laboratory instruments• Assist with development and validation of new or revised analytical procedures• Provide periodic training to staff in areas of laboratory ethics, data integrity and hazardous waste disposal• Annual reporting of dangerous waste activities to the State of Washington Department of Ecology (WSDOE)• Conduct weekly inspections of waste accumulation areas• Oversee monthly safety committee meetings; record and distribute meeting minutes; create laboratory inspection documents; respond to incidents and accidents• Scan and archive data
