I became involved with the media industry after law school, as Corporate Counsel, and later VP Finance, with Granicus Films in Alberta, Canada. Throughout my subsequent legal career I continued to act as counsel to many Western Canadian film and television producers.In 2000, I started Angel Entertainment Corp with industry veteran (and former client) Wally Start. Very quickly, Angel rose to prominence in the Canadian scene. We’ve produced multiple seasons of award-winning national series television in both factual and dramatic genres, and feature films which have sold around the world.Currently on the air is Season Three of the paranormal series “The Other Side”; Season Four is in prep for 2017. Our feature film “Big Muddy”, a gritty family drama about life on the fringes of a western community premiered at TIFF 2014. In development now is the feature film "Waiting For Columbus", based on the acclaimed novel by Thomas Trofimuk. In 2010 Wally and I acquired Bamboo Shoots Inc, a busy production and post house which produces several hours of television content every month and specializes in live event mobile coverage. Bamboo's 30 full-time producers, shooters and editors are busy year-round with everything from major league sports coverage to high-end commercial production for the best brands in Western Canada.I've served on the steering committee and working groups of the Canada Media Fund, as a Jury Chair (Drama) for the Gemini Awards, and on the boards of SaskCulture and SMPIA. In 2013 I was elected to the Board of the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) and currently chair its Mentorship Committee.
