I have a track record of thoughtful, supportive leadership—balancing care and concern for my team with a drive toward innovation and a deep commitment to quality.I got my start in trade book publishing (Simon & Schuster), followed by a stint in reference publishing (H.W. Wilson), and that experience affirmed some important truths about my new profession: that details always matter, that precision and accuracy can’t be overvalued, and that going the extra mile to do the best work possible is a way of keeping faith. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my career in medical/healthcare publishing. I’ve been involved in all facets of the editorial operation, from developmental editing to staff management to budget and project management, and more recently in strategic planning as well.In these roles, I’ve been known for my sense of balance: being a patient and stabilizing influence, and maintaining a sense of humor, in a fast-paced environment; caring about, and advocating for, my team while upholding high standards; and getting the details right while conveying a sense of the big picture—for today and tomorrow. I pride myself on being multifaceted—a capable manager and a strong communicator, but also an operational expert who keeps things running smoothly, and a chief mechanic who diagnoses and solves problems.Outside of work, my interests include outdoorsy pursuits like hiking and bicycling, but my real passion is writing—I’ve published several short stories, and completed a novel that was a finalist for the James Jones First Novel Award. My love of the written word has guided my career and my creative life—ultimately, it’s about being involved in making something lasting and meaningful.Specialties:Staff ManagementBudget ManagementProject ManagementStrategic PlanningContent ManagementProcess/Workflow ImprovementOperational EfficienciesQuality Assurance/Quality ControlScholarly & Professional PublishingDigital MediaMisspellings: Dahl
