Bob DeGemmis is a teacher, organizational leader, entrepreneur, issue advocate and coach.Most recently, Mr. DeGemmis spent the 2023-2024 school year teaching high school English at Grosse Pointe North High School (MI). DeGemmis’ former high school education experience includes leading civics, history and leadership programming from 2008-2020 for international and domestic high school students for the American Civics Center in Alexandria, VA. DeGemmis has also coached high school hockey, soccer and lacrosse in DC, Maryland and Michigan. Currently, he working on a written project about non-NCAA college sports entitled CLUB SPORTS ARE COLLEGE SPORTS. The primary audience for the book includes college club sports administrators, state high school athletic associations, high school athletic directors, high school coaches, youth sports parents and scholastic athletes. Mr. DeGemmis also works tirelessly to develop young child and youth athletic sport programming. As the founder and owner-operator of the Red Line Athletic Club in Montgomery County, Maryland he has created a space for seasonal, local and accessible youth hockey and off-ice programming. The Club is approaching its fifteenth year. DeGemmis also continues this grassroots work through Grosse Pointe Starter Athletics (MI) delivering programming for young athletes and multisport interests. From 1999-2010, DeGemmis has worked as a Congressional staffer and government affairs professional, working with federal elected officials, national trade associations and issue campaigns involved in lobbying, strategy and messaging for legislative, public relations and industry-wide outcomes.
