After a 40 year career in technology with 25 as the CIO of a major US Law firm of 1,000 lawyers, I hit a wall and on 12/31/2022 I walked away. By all social norms and American standards, including financial, I was at the pinnacle of my career and yet I decided the environment was too stressful, too political, maybe even too toxic. I was wrong.It took me 18 months of wide open space in my life (and on my calendar) to look inward and explore my own mind with as much curiosity as I’ve explored the world. And what did I find?My brain lied to me and I mean that in the truest sense of the phrase. My brain, through my own conditioning, chose to believe a lie about the organization and the beautiful people that worked alongside me for more than 25 years. I’ve since learned that there are 2 types of mental stress; healthy stress and unhealthy stress and the only difference between the two is what your mind chooses to believe. And what you believe engages different parts of your brain and impacts your overall physiology. And so what now for this 60 something? Surrounded and supported by my curious community of growth minded (modern) elders I’ve chosen a new future:I am innately and intensely curious. And yet, my insecurities in who I am had blocked me from the resilience and courage necessary to voice the ideas my curiosity breeds. The deeper I understand my authentic self, the more beautiful and soulful attributes I see: I see courageous curiosity.I see care and compassion.I see love and wisdom.I see the ability to help people find their most authentic Self through the power of vulnerability.I see people flourishing through the restorative energy of authentic and safe self discovery.I see a compounding impact on the world as this energy ripples through workplaces and communities.I see me celebrating from the sidelines as people engage in the marketplace with authentic and collaborative endeavors of creative discovery.I see me, helping you find the better story of your Self…
