Transportation and Logistics is all I’ve ever done. • I possess a history of turnaround and growth leadership at private and public transportation companies of $40 million dollars to over $2 billion in annual revenues. • I started as a dockworker and by the age of 25 I was responsible for the East Coast freight division of Yellow Freight Systems, which was their largest with annual revenues of approximately $300 million dollars. • As CEO of USF Bestway, I took the company from two years of losses to the most profitable subsidiary within the USFreightways group within 18 months. • While still CEO at USF Bestway, I also assumed the additional responsibility of turning around USF Red Star as their CEO.• After two successful turnarounds, I assumed responsibility for all six operating units ($2.2 billion of annual revenue) as President of the USFreightways Regional Carrier Group. The group soon led the industry in top-line revenue growth and in profit margin. With the company optimized, it was marketed for sale. • As CEO of Central Freight Lines, a $400 million southwestern regional, I was brought in to begin another turnaround. Within 18 months, the company was brought from losses to a highly oversold and successful IPO, where 55% of the company was sold for $147 million. • Founded Evergreen Management, a business management consultancy, with a focus on the transportation and logistics industry, and specializing in startup, undervalued or underperforming companies. • Chairman of Great Range Capital Operating Partners (GRC) – Source, perform diligence and assist portfolio companies with a focus in the transportation and logistics sector. Currently the Chairman, President and CEO of LLL Transport Inc…Chairman, President and CEO of Girton Transport LLC...and Chairman of Apple Bus Company. (LLL Transport was managed to a 112% increase in EBITDA while issuing a record dividend to shareholders in 2014.)
