At FLG, I work with clients in a variety of industries to help raise capital, implement/improve financial management, improve quality of decision making and being a strong partner to CEOs and Executive Teams. Typically, I manage Accounting/Finance, HR, IT, Legal & Real Estate.For over two decades, I’ve worked with executive teams and board members to create a path to profitability for privately held companies — to help them achieve their full potential. My focus on revenue growth, efficiency and scalability have allowed me to raise $100M in capital, return $400M to founders and investors through M&A's and sell five companies.With broad, deep experience in Finance, HR, IT, Real Estate, Legal and Sales Operations, I’ve navigated through the myriad challenges businesses face, learning what to do — and what not to do — in good times and bad. Recently, I worked on improving supply chain operations and manufacturing for an international hardware company, traveling to Seoul to work with our team there and our contract manufacturer to implement changes, and move to a JIT inventory approach.I did a deep dive on customer acquisition costs, renewal rates, upsells and other SaaS metrics to improve the profitability of our subscription business.Recently, I helped turn around a cybersecurity business, helping grow revenue significantly and improving EBITDA from negative to positive. Cash flow from operations also went from negative to positive.My approach involves designing infrastructures with effective internal controls that increase financial predictability and eliminate surprises. This included investing heavily in R&D and sales, cutting unprofitable initiatives and ruthlessly monitoring expenses.Key achievements include:✮ Profitability – increased revenue by 150% and significantly improved EBITDA.✮ Cash Flow – significantly improved cash flow from operations✮ Capital – raised equity and debt including re-financing term debt which deferred principal payments, which helped cash flow ✮ International – established offshore R&D sites in India and Vietnam, created Japan KK and its infrastructure and worked with HR to develop expat packages that allowed us to accelerate sales among countries. Ensured GDPR compliance.✮ Transforming Finance – upgraded key talent, implemented NetSuite, implemented automated commission calculation SW, implemented ASC 606✮ Talent – partnered with HR to improve Talent strategies. I managed Finance & Accounting, Treasury, Human Resources, Information Technology, Real Estate and Legal. I was a key player in the acquisition of Bersin by Deloitte Consulting. I developed all financial forecasts, managed all due diligence requests, and successfully closed the deal in 2012 to avoid the “fiscal cliff” tax increase. I helped grow bookings by nearly 90% by investing in the sales force and keeping other investments flat. Bersin was self-funded during this entire time of rapid growth.In my role, I implemented process improvements that resulted in faster invoicing & collections.
