Responsible for the development of an Internet-based communications link between healthcare providers and chronically ill patients. Duties included directing the software engineering teams and recruiting and staffing the software development organization. Also did significant hands-on development of HTML and Java user interfaces.

Senior consultant and rainmaker at a contract software development firm. Projects included a DirectTV set-top box, embedded operating system development environment, and Java software for a point-of-sale appliance.

Project manager for a Windows-based product that collects medical history information and generates pre-anesthesia assessment reports. Led a cross-functional product team in an ISO 9001 compliant development process through the beta test and production release cycles.

Joined Rational as a Technical Representative. Produced sales collateral, made technical sales presentations, and trained customers on use of the product. Moved on to take the position of Technical Services Manager, overseeing a team of technical consultants that provided in-depth support of Rational's products and software development methodologies. Some members of this team later were instrumental in the development of the Rational Unified Process (RUP). Worked as a Software Development Manager responsible for leading a team working on computer aided software engineering tools.

Worked on a number of different Defense Department contracts developing software, leading, and managing software development teams. Systems included flight simulators for the B-52, EF-111A, and F-16 as well as a remotely piloted vehicle (RPV) command and control system.
