• Responsible for all aspects of Network Infrastructure for Sunoco’s Corporate Enterprise Network. Work with various Business Units to determine requirements and develop internetworking solutions. Project Management for major Network Infrastructure projects, including interfacing with various service providers and contractors.• Designed and implemented conversion from Frame Relay/OSPF WAN architecture to MPLS/BGP architecture, reducing network latency and improving application performance at smaller remote offices, while reducing overall WAN costs. Created standards documents for configuration, cut-over, and testing, and Visio diagrams of network topology.• Developed plan for installation of Cisco Firewalls between the Process Control Network and Enterprise Network at all production facilities to provide security and network segmentation. Created all configurations and implementation plans for successful cut-overs. Configured Cisco ASA firewalls for company’s PCI compliant data center.• Developed design for interconnectivity between multiple company networks as part of Mergers and Acquisitions program. Set-up Network Address Translation to resolve IP address overlap conflicts. Implemented prefix-lists and route-maps to create redistribution policy for route advertisement between autonomous systems.• Provided network infrastructure and security recommendations for project to meet requirements of the PCIS cardholder information security act. Worked with Marketing personnel, Corporate Security Officer and Industry Consultants to develop a solution that met Federal guidelines as well as Sunoco Corporate Policy.

Network Design Consulting for client Sunoco’s Network Design & Engineering Group. -Worked with Business Line Management and Technical personnel to understand business needs and establish IT requirements to meet those needs. -Working within established Corporate Network Design guidelines, developed internetworking design solutions to meet Business Line requirements. Analyzed bandwidth utilization histories and application data flow information to design more efficient network connectivity for client’s remote facilities. for 600 remote satellite-based retail locations. Solicited and evaluated proposals for secure IP-based access to the remote sites by 3rd party vendors. Worked with Corporate Security Officer and Network Engineering Group to select the solution that most successfully met security requirements.

System Architecture, Project Management, and Troubleshooting for 700 server Web-Hosting network. -Worked with Application Developers on design of network architecture to enable web-based streaming quotes and alerts applications. -Implemented IP Multicasting on Cisco Routers, IGMP Snooping on Cisco Switches, and tunneled Multicast traffic through Firewalls using GRP. -Project Managed successful design and installation of new remote web-hosting data center. Fault tolerant design included Multi-homed BGP connections to ISP’s, HSRP on internal routers, Dual PIX Firewalls in fail-over mode, and redundant pairs of all production Cisco 6509 Switch/Routers and Cisco 3548 Switches.

Design, implementation and support of client Enterprise and Wide-Area internetworks. -Restructured client's Web-Hosting network to perform intelligent load-balancing using Cisco Distributed Directors and Local Directors. Installed Catalyst 6500 switches with Multilayer Switch Modules for high-availability, high-speed, routing and switching. -Upgraded client’s 1000+ node National Headquarters network from Token Ring/10Mb Shared Ethernet to 100Mb Switched Ethernet. Implemented spanning tree architecture to provide fault tolerance and load balancing using port-vlan priorities and uplinkfast on dual distribution and core switches. -Successfully added client’s remote production facilities to multi-area, 100 router OSPF/Frame Relay network. Partial-Mesh Frame Relay design (hub and spoke with redundancy) included zero CIR PVC’s and Dial-on-Demand ISDN links to alternate sites for back-up connections.

Planning, configuration, installation and support of Local and Wide-Area networks. -Installed and supported campus-wide multi-protocol network (IP, IPX, DECnet and Appletalk). Configured Cisco 7000 and 4500 series routers and Synoptics Concentrators.
