Deputy Director and Co-Founder of the CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University. Jointly administered by the Colleges of Education and Natural Science at MSU and in partnership with the Colleges of Engineering and the Lyman-Briggs Residential College, CREATE functions as the research hub at Michigan State for efforts to improve STEM Education, K-16.CREATE led the development and roll-out of the Next Generation Science Standards in Michigan and across the country, and is a lead developer of creative and research-tested curricula from elementary school through university undergraduate instruction. In addition to curricula, we develop, test, and provide professional learning for teachers and faculty, formative and summative assessments of student learning, measures of student engagement, and AI tools for assessment and supporting teachers. We innovate, investigate, and inform the broader education world to help all students grow and succeed in the STEM disciplines.

Post-Doctoral Researcher, Research Scientist in the Center for Highly Interactive Curriculum in Education (Hice), and Instructor in the teacher education / teacher certification program.

Department Head for Science and Mathematics, Administrator, and teacher; founded and advised the Outdoor Club, Coached the Math Team.

Served as Department Head of both the Science & Mathematics Departments, Director of Admissions, Administrator and teacher during a 2-year administrative transition. Founded and led the school outdoors program.

Taught physics, AP Physics, and pre-calculus mathematics in a boarding school environment; coached soccer and hockey; served as residential hall faculty & advisor and member of the faculty advisory committee.
