About Bob Greene

I'm thankful for the jobs I have where I've gotten in better shape to make up for the lock-down inactivity.Sadly, the IT jobs just haven't felt as rewarding or fulfilling.Starting in the Army, most of my experience has been in IT positions, but I've taken jobs in warehouse environments that actually worked fine for me, too. I enjoyed desktop support but loathe call center work. While I was on Active Duty, I taught myself web design which led to my degree in Graphic Web Design. I've used Adobe PhotoShop & Illustrator, but primarily use GIMP when I lost access to my older version of Creative Studios. I enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the results of my work which is why I enjoy desktop support and web design equally.Interestingly enough, I had to move on from some jobs because I was too efficient. I like a steady work pace. So, when the workload tapers off, I've often sought out additional tasks to remain productive.Sometimes, It wasn't conveyed that the position wasn't temp.-to-hire, and I was led to believe I would be transitioning to a full-time position once my task-load was complete.I worked 21 yrs. for the Army and have been searching for jobs where I can stay just as long.I look forward to proving my value to the company that hires me and hope it becomes long-term employment.It's good that my parents were able to retire. Too bad the younger generations won't have that option. Realistically, I expect to work myself into the grave. Whatever the case, I figure there's honor in that.

    I assist the store manager minimize stock room inventory and assist in unloading the incoming replenishment shipments. We've been able to clear out quite a bit of room in the stock room since both of us started working there. After all, if customers don't see the merchandise, they don't know it's available for sale.I actually enjoy stocking despite the low pay.It's good for exercise and a little interaction with customers who need help finding something. It's been nice to have my supervisor give me kudos on my work ethic, too.

    Because I know just how annoying ads can be on websites, my website doesn't have any. On the studies page, I promote other good Christian resources. I pay the web hosting myself as a labor of love.As webmaster of BibleBrowse.org, I am not only practicing my web design skills, but promoting peace in this turbulent world. Not only can Christians & Jews collaborate, but all the peaceful religions can work together to show each other respect & love. We need to recognize that none of us are perfect, but with some patience & understanding, we may be able to make this world a better place to live.Christian multimedia has been added to the site as well as partnerships with other Christian groups to make visible various resources available for people to grow in their walk with God. Over 600 Christian songs (YouTube music videos) are promoted as well as links to The Bible Project animations.I'm continuously working to improve the cosmetics and content of the website.     It was refreshing to be in a work environment where people care about each other and it's generally a friendly place to work.
