In this role I led R&D projects in applications development and suspension polymerization fundamentals. This included designing a testing protocol to demonstrate efficacy of a new resin, helping secure a $1M sale, as well as collaboration with a water treatment company to design new resins that reduce hard-water scale by 75%. I am a co-inventor on 2 patents on ion exchange resin synthesis.

I led technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing for >50 emulsion and solution polymer products. This included lab-scale product development work as well as designing and carrying out pilot-scale and commercial-scale polymerization batches, working alongside engineers and operators during production batches to optimize processes and ensure manufacturing success. I advised plant teams on how to handle chemistry-related manufacturing issues and assisted with root cause investigations.

PhD chemist rotational training program, including R&D assignments in polymer synthesis, applications, and scale-up within Personal Care, Architectural Coatings, and Plastics Additives businesses. I developed the synthesis of an acrylic light diffuser polymer that was later commercialized.
