Responsible for facilities maintenance and management including automation, managing and implementing the Capital Development, foundry upgrades, equipment installations, and facility modifications. Maintain Foundry systems. Identify opportunities for improved operational efficiencies, reduced downtime and allocation of resources.

Responsible for managing the mechanical maintenance activity to improve equipment reliability while controlling cost and maintaining asset value for the Iron Producing Division.

Responsible for plant wide utility systems including service water, compressed air, process gasses and high voltage power distribution. Operated and maintained water treatment facilities for melt shop and casting facilities. Directed Maintenance Bull Gang to supply maintenance support throughout the plant.

Developed team and spearheaded the startup of the idled Lorain Hot End facilities including; Billet Caster, Bloom Caster, #2 LMF, Vacuum Degasser, Water Treatment Facilities, Melt Shop Alloy System, EOT Cranes and Auxiliary Equipment. Interviewed and hired Maintenance Managers, MTM’s and MTE’s to support the Hot End maintenance. Utilized engineering, plant maintenance forces, contractor maintenance forces and vendors to achieve objectives.

Supporting Luvata Monterrey, MX, by developing interim solutions prior to ERP implementation, to facilitate material scheduling, capacity planning, plant production flow, and management of WIP and Finished Good inventories by utilizing build to order scheduling.

Interim position at Luvata Monterrey, MX, to improve and develop Quality Systems.Developed and implemented APQP System to facilitate new product development and customer integration. Improved Quality Systems addressing customer concerns on quality, defective returns and product delivery.

Coordinate and lead activities in safety, production, planning, maintenance, logistics, information systems, customer service and communications. Responsible for over 400 employees in 24/7 operation. Utilize Lean Manufacturing Enterprise concepts to improve plant efficiencies and profitability. Set agenda for cultural change from slow and rigid to fast and flexible.

Responsible for uptime and maintenance of two 220 ton BOF vessels. Managed team of 80 in 7/24 operation, developed and managed budgets, lead preventative maintenance programs and key contributor on continuous improvement teams.

Project Management – Develop bid packages and scopes of work, construction management assistance, maintain project budget, process change orders, material procurement, and construction site safety. Operations Management – Supervised two Casting facilities, managed daily casting activities.Combustion Engineering – Steel billet reheat furnaces, ingot soaking pit reheat furnaces, batch annealing furnaces, distributive control systems, cooling water systems, combustion control systems, oxy-fuel systems, material handling systems. Plant Utilities – High-pressure boilers, steam and electric driven turbines, pumps, compressors and generators, water treatment facilities, air-cleaning facilities.Human Resources Recruiting Team Member – Participated in interviewing and hiring key management team
