As renewable energy program manager for NC, I addressed issues facilitating renewable energy technologies and markets in NC working with stakeholders including universities, federal agencies, non-profits, and businesses. Work activities included: managing a DOE Southeast Clean Energy Technologies Roadmap grant, point of contact for NC windfarm permitting, and a NC Homeowner Association solar access project (two documents developed for the solar access project are attached). Other work experience in this position included the following: • Managed photovoltaic, solar thermal, and landfill gas projects as part of Federal Recovery Act funding – work included RFP development, project consultation, compliance monitoring, and fiscal oversight for over 30 projects. Also managed offshore wind feasibility studies that included: NC ports assessment, offshore wind evaluation, and stakeholder outreach. • Provided consultation to state agencies, individuals, and private companies on financial incentives, technical information, and regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects. • Supplied technical support for projects and initiatives including: the NC Offshore Wind Task Force; Energy Policy Council, renewable energy project development for public agencies; and solar access and market development. • Conference and event planning including: donor solicitation and exhibitor outreach, developing conference tracks, preparing and presenting presentations, and assembling panels as part of conferences and technical seminars. • Project management for a variety of DOE special projects and outside agency grants for over 15 years including: NC biomass roadmap development, regional greenpower workshops, wind feasibility mapping for NC, NC million solar roofs project, ethanol from swine waste, landfill gas assessments, and the NC Small Wind Demonstration Center.
