In addition to the usual function a Credit Manager performs, I was responsible for the sourcing, scope writing and implementation of a new Credit and Collections software package, High Radius. Part of this process was to migrate a paper-based deductions management system to a digitized format utilizing Sharepoint. While managing a 45% reduction in staffing levels, I was able to decrease the length of time to process a credit which historically had taken several months to a Sharepoint workflow system where the time was reduced to days.

Pomeroy is an IT Sales and Solutions provider in the desktop to data center space. Providing services in the Managed, Professional, Staffing and Logistics area. The role of Director of Credit and Collections was responsible for meeting the weekly and monthly cash needs of the business. This was accomplished by leading a team of eight Collection Specialists and creating a monthly cash forecast which met the needs of the Corporation. In meeting the annual cash needs of the company, my team was also responsible for the integration of the Tolt’s merger by conducting credit evaluations, approvals and setting up all accounts being brought into Pomeroy.

Omnicare is the largest supplier of Pharmaceuticals to the Nursing Home Industry. Working within a heavily regulated industry, the role of Director of Facility Collections was to mitigate and collect on balances in excess of $530 million. Many of the balances dated back several years and the challenge was to maintain the flow of product while collecting on old balances. I was able to lead my team to meet our stated cash collection and DSO reduction goal within the first eight month of the year.

Cardinal Health is a Fortune 20 company that specializes in the distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical products. As one of five Regional Credit Managers, my role was to partner with the Sales Team to maintain and increase our footprint in a specific geographic location. In addition to the Underwriting, Forecasting and Mitigation aspects of the job, a good portion of our responsibilities were to interact with the Customer to develop creative solutions for past dues, new store openings and credit limit increases.

Cintas is a Fortune 500 company that provides specialized services to businesses such as designing, manufacturing and implementing Corporate Identity uniform programs. As Director of Credit for National Accounts, my role was to ensure monies were collected as invoices came due and to correct any billing issues so the customer could process our payment in a timely manner. Under my leadership, my team had a substantial impact on the two main Key Performance Indicators that measured division profitability, Balances Over 60 Days and Bad Debt Reserves. Within one year we were able to decrease the balances over 60 days from 12.56% to 3.04% and the Bad Debt Reserve was reduced from $1.8 million to ($136,000).
