I lead teams; I have led ever since I was a boy. Whether leading a group of teenagers on a back-pack trip, leading airmen to test a weapons system, or leading a business team through a technology change, I've enjoyed organizing, executing, and celebrating the results with my teammates. Today, I am a Sr Project Manager at Microsoft where I plan, coach, and deliver Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions. Its a perfect place for me to work, with a lot of energy. Every project and team is unique. I led with an Agile mindset, and am comfortable across a wide variety of cultures, methodologies, and approaches. I enjoy driving complex projects, with their challenge of business and technology merging together, improving the way business is done. Best of all, I find at Microsoft I'm always learning and growing, applying new skills, techniques, and ideals.Before Microsoft I focused on implementing and running SAP. I ran several SAP implementation projects, championing the business operations and realizing ROI. And, when needed, work included turning around failing multi-million dollar projects, never fun, but sometimes necessary. I have decades of experience in both IT leadership and consultant IT professional services leadership, creating business solutions using technology and clean processes to improve the bottom line. Yes, I know that statement makes me sound old. Said a different way, I've kept current on business focused technology long enough to see mistakes made and learn from them. Just like leading those Scout hikes as a boy, a big part of successful Project Management is knowing the people, the terrain, the equipment, the upcoming weather, and what decisions need to be made immediately vs those that can wait.My industry experience includes Manufacturing, Warehouse Distribution, Agriculture, Insurance, Utilities, Telecommunications, Advertising, Securities, Finance, State Government, Non-Profit Organizations, and Aerospace Weapons Systems. All of which contributes to the way I approach projects today.
