While serving as CEO of Government Solutions, I was selected to give leadership to CGE&Y’s global transformation effort. I drove the development of a leadership & people transformation agenda focused on improvements in the areas of leadership development and personal development. Under my leadership, CGE&Y:1. Implemented a Leadership Now Initiative, a program focused on developing professionals in the Top 10% at CGE&Y.2. The U.S. Public Sector is a $100+ billion market and is the fastest growing vertical in the professional services industry. As a member of the CGE&Y North America Executive Committee, I launched CGE&Y’s Government Solutions Division. As CEO, I secured mission critical contracts with key federal agencies such as Department of Homeland Security, Centers for Disease Control, and Department of Defense. I created an LLC, recruited a strong leadership team, and gave leadership to an acquisition evaluation process. I conducted road shows involving customers, analysts, press, and strategic partners and secured “icon” board members to include a former Under Secretary of Defense and a highly regarded defense strategist with the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security.

As a member of CGE&Y’s North America Executive Committee and as Managing Director of CGE&Y’s Americas Sectors, I gave leadership to a practice portfolio consisting of $1.1 billion in revenues and 3,500 consulting professionals. The verticals I was responsible for included Health Care, Middle Market, Canada, Mexico, and Professional Services. Under my leadership, CGE&Y’s Americas Sectors was the highest performing business unit within CGE&Y North America with 2001 performance at 104% of sales plan, 100% of revenue plan, and 103% of profit plan. This performance was achieved by:1. Driving a mix shift towards a higher percentage of sourcing contracts2. Focusing aggressive attention on performance-based deals3. Implementing “real-time” management processes

At the conclusion of 1996, Ernst & Young’s (E&Y) Consulting Services practice had seized significant market share in the major account market. Looking for sources of future growth and recognizing that the technology revolution was creating a “new breed” of middle market companies, the Chairman of E&Y’s Consulting Services Practice elected to start a new division focused on the middle market. As a member of E&Y’s North America Executive Committee, I was selected to give leadership to the launch of E&Y’s Middle Market Consulting Services practice. From 1997 to 2000, E&Y’s Middle Market practice grew to become a $385 million consulting services entity with over 1,200 dedicated consultants. E&Y’s Middle Market practice was a significant growth engine for the North American Region having the highest growth and profit performance of any business unit in 1998 and representing more than 30% of the overall growth of E&Y’s Consulting Services business in 1999. These achievements were accomplished by a focus on:1. High Growth, “Future Fortune 500” companies2. “Quick Start” infrastructure to support rapid market growth3. Innovative methods to increase speed to market

In May of 1995, I was selected by the partners of E&Y to build E&Y’s Performance Improvement practice in the East. As Area Director, I grew E&Y’s Performance Improvement practice, with offices in Atlanta, Charlotte and Washington, DC to a $48M operation with 185 professionals. Under my leadership, E&Y’s Performance Improvement practice achieved 109% of its sales plan and 110% of its profit plan. These achievements were accomplished by:1.
