In addition to my coursework, I worked as a teaching assistant (TA). In this capacity, I hosted discussion sessions, proctored exams, and graded examsfor introductory statistics courses. Courses include STA 16 - Elementary Statistics (SummerQuarter II, 2015), STA 100 - Applied Statistics for Biological Sciences (Summer Session I,2014, and Fall Quarter, 2015). I was also involved in Graduate Student Research (GSR) in the area of investment portfolio optimization.

Since my sophomore year at Montana Tech, I worked as a Mathematics and Chemistry Tutor for the campus tutoring center. I tutored all lower-division chemistry and mathematicscourses offered at Montana Tech, accumulating over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience.For two years, I participated in the Undergraduate Research Program (URP), where I completed paid research projects, one computational chemistry researchproject as well as a numerical methods research project. Both of these projects culminated in a public presentation of my research results on the Montana Tech campus.As a Supplemental Instructor, I hosted three, one-hour review sessions per week for anintroductory differential equations course. This position was similar to a teaching assistant position.

I participated in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program in Industrial Mathematics and Statistics. The thirteen participating students were split into three groups to work on select industry-sponsored projects in conjunction with Worcester Polytechnic Institute faculty and industry sponsors. As a member of a group of four students, I conducted research in financial mathematics developing a modified and improved method of portfolio optimization. At the end of each week of the 8-week-long program, my group and I were required to present our weekly results. The program culminated in both a presentation to the WPI faculty and the public, but also a presentation to our corporate sponsor, Wellington Management, in their Boston office.

I conducted research at MIT as a participant in the 8-week-long Amgen-Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) Scholars Program hosted on the MIT campus. The Tokmakoff Group, a group in the physical chemistry department, was my faculty sponsor. As a temporary member of this group, I worked on a research project in two-dimensional, ultra-fast, infrared spectroscopy. Each week, I presented my progress to the other members of the group. At the end of the program, I gave a poster presentation of my results at the Amgen-UROP Scholars Poster Session on the MIT campus.
