The Company was acquired by United Refrigeration, Inc. in April 2016.Controller is the top financial position at the Company. Oversaw finance department for the company including procuring insurance, banking, LTL freight and package carrier negotiations, retirement plan administration, financial reporting, customer credit, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax reporting and compliance, budgeting and treasury. Managed directly and indirectly seventeen professionals and staff. Muzak, LLC was the largest provider of music for businesses in the US. The Company achieved annual revenue of more than $225MM and was owned principally by ABRY Partners, a private equity group. Muzak filed for bankruptcy and was later purchased by Mood Media after my departure.VP-Affiliate Services, Feb 2002 - March 2005 - Responsible for managing the relationships with and monitoring the services provided to the 100+ independently owned domestic and international franchisees. Presented operational updates to the independent franchisee owners at their quarterly meetings. Continued performing numerous "Controller" duties including overseeing the tax department, risk management and procuring commercial insurance and managing the home office facility department.Controller, August 1999 - February 2002 - Responsible for the Company's financial reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, sales and use and property taxes, commercial insurance and the home office facility department.Accomplishments:> First person hired by Muzak in Charlotte/Fort Mill; coordinated the transition of the Finance Department from Seattle to Fort Mill; hired the majority of the 26 individuals who reported directly and indirectly to me> After hiring each, effectively managed and motivated the Accounting Manager, External Reporting Manager, Tax Manager, and Accounts Payable Manager among others to transform departments lacking numerous internal controls and with all new employees into a collective Finance Department that was disciplined, efficient and well controlled> Integrated 21 acquisitions (franchisees and on-hold competitors) into our financials> Managed the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns in 44 states> Managed some difficult sales and use tax audits

Parnell-Martin was a distributor of plumbing equipment and supplies throughout the Southeast US. The Company achieved annual revenue of more than $75MM and was privately owned until December 2004 when it was acquired by Wolseley Acquisitions.Responsible for financial accounting including the general ledger, accounts payable and financial statements, all tax reporting, budgeting, treasury, and for reporting certain results at the quarterly senior management meetings. Procured all insurance policies and improved loss control policies, functioned as head of human resources, negotiated leases, managed audits performed by the external audit firm, the IRS and various states for sales and use tax.

Now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers, the largest accounting and consulting firm in the world, I worked in the Audit Department for Coopers & Lybrand beginning as an entry-level auditor and leaving as an Audit Manager.Audit Manager, July 1990 - March 1992 - Responsible for numerous audit engagements in a wide variety of industries, both publicly traded and privately owned, including a Fortune 500 steel manufacturer, the largest architecture firm in Charlotte, the local Anheuser-Busch distributor, real estate and mortgage companies, community hospitals and textile and chemical manufacturers. Instructed several C&L training classes.Audit Supervisor, July 1987 - June 1990 - Supervised up to five staff auditors responsible for the audit of financial statements. Prepared and reviewed income tax accruals and income tax returns.
