Research:• Quantum Computing: In have been exploring quantum computing using the DWave's quantum annealer. A colleague and I have found an annealing algorithm to solve a system of general linear equations. • Code Verification:I have been working on large hydrodynamic and radiation-hydrodynamics codes in the last few years, and have become interested in code verification. • Field Theory Applications in Plasma Physics: I have done theoretical work on problems in fundamental plasma physics involving Coulomb energy exchange processes in a plasma, such as stopping power and temperature equilibration. In particular, I am know for the Brown, Preston, Singleton (BPS) stopping power, relevant for ICF physics, which solves the so called “Coulomb logarithm problem” for weakly coupled plasmas.• High Energy Physics:Particle phenomenology, electroweak baryogenesis and cosmology, non-perturbative processes in quantum field theory in particular high energy baryon number violation, and lattice QCD. In this field, I am known for the Sharp-Singleton scenario involving symmetry breaking of the Wilson-Dirac Fermions on the lattice.
