Now those award-winning Christian audio dramas—more than 900 episodes—can be streamed on demand as part of the Adventures in Odyssey Club.It is an honor serving as the manager, producer and primary content creator for this unique online experience. More than just a profitable fan community, aioclub.org is a safe, robust platform for discipling children and sparking young imaginations. We hear daily from parents raised on the radio show who still enjoy it, and are thrilled to share it with the next generation. Indeed, the Club brings people together, including fans from nearly 90 countries!And I have a front row seat.My leadership role is diverse, strategic, and creative. On any given day, tasks can include writing, scheduling, layout and design, website management, art direction, voice over, interviews, video production, writing/editing scripts, overseeing budgets, crafting puzzles, testing kid-friendly activities, attending recording sessions, engaging with fans and donors, pitching proposals, and brokering alliances with like-minded organizations. I've also co-hosted our bi-weekly podcast since 2005. If this sounds like more than a full-time job, it is. But I'm not complaining.

Initially hired as a copywriter in the marketing department, I soon joined the management team and spent 16 years writing and editing Plugged In, a monthly publication that kept parents aware of entertainment content and youth culture trends. That award-winning magazine was retired in 2009 as we shifted our presence online. This ushered in a season of managing, writing and hosting Plugged In's weekly audio podcast, which ran for 220 episodes. Meanwhile, I helmed "High Voltage," a monthly advice column for teens and tweens, for 19 years. Additional writing and editing tasks included articles, blogs, media reviews, curriculum and other parenting resources for pluggedin.com. I fielded numerous interview requests from local and national media, including CNN, Time and Entertainment Weekly. In addition, I wrote and voiced radio commentaries and promotional spots, spoke at conferences, and co-hosted The Official Adventures in Odyssey Podcast, a fun, behind-the-scenes look into that popular series of children's audio dramas. Writing credits also included books such as 'Chart Watch', 'Movie Nights', 'Movie Nights for Teens' and 'The One Year Father-Daughter Devotions'.

As an undergraduate Public Speaking instructor at UK, I coached students in organizing content, writing outlines, mastering oral presentation ... and controlling butterflies. Two semesters. Four sections. One of my most rewarding experiences during graduate school, it awakened a passion for the classroom and led to a Chancellor's Award nomination for outstanding teaching.

College internships are awesome! In this case, it led to a full-time position as the primary writer and editor with this AAAA advertising, marketing and public relations firm. That included writing award-winning retail and business-to-business advertising for newspaper, radio, magazine, television and outdoor. I also wrote brochures, fliers, press releases, slogans, catalogs, sales letters, direct mail pieces and audiovisual scripts. Other duties ranged from developing business presentations and campaign strategies to collaborating with clients and freelancers. Fun Fact: I penned the press release announcing a local sub shop's very first out-of-state franchise. That client was Jersey Mike's.
