I am an advocate for using solar energy to pay for unconditional basic incomes. My book "Solar Dividends: How Solar Energy Can Generate a Basic Income For Everyone on Earth", describes a new approach to halting climate change that combines solar energy with unconditional basic incomes. Instead of using tax money to pay for basic incomes, we install community solar arrays, sell the electricity, and use the revenue to pay for basic incomes. Because solar energy is sustainable, the basic income payments are sustainable. And we get the added benefits of reducing greenhouse gases by replacing fossil fuels with solar energy.I'm currently working with the Sustainable Systems Research Foundation to set up pilot programs to test the idea.
