What gets me up in the morning is helping my friends and clients find solutions, fight fires and make sense of an increasingly complex world.I am Principal at Camdor Global Advisors, an independent firm that provides strategic macro, investment and risk advisory, and restructuring/workout services to institutional investors, financial institutions and the public sector. I also oversee the CIO Network for the Geneva Association, representing leading insurers globally across the world and engaging on their behalf with policymakers and multi-lateral bodies. In a personal capacity, I sit on the boards of or advise a number of financial institutions, fintech/insurtech firms and industry bodies. With over 20 years of experience in the finance industry and of setting up successful new ventures, I have extensive knowledge of asset classes across traditional and private assets; proven macro, strategy and management skills through the cycle; a deep knowledge of pensions, insurance, ALM and ESG; and a wide network of industry, investor and policy contacts globally. In addition, I am a well regarded author, speaker and commentator on macro and financial issues. My last book, Money Mania, examined 25 centuries of financial crises and their unifying themes. It was critically acclaimed by leading publications and practitioners, such as the FT, Guardian and Paul Tudor Jones, and translated into several languages. Read an excerpt below.
