CurrentSweeney/Philanthropy specializes in serving complex, emerging universities and sophisticated NGO's in developing strategies to increase philanthropic capacity. Assignments include capacity audits, staff and volunteer performance assessments, campaign planning and aiding universities in re-imagining fundraising in a post-campaign environment. Expert in leading transitions or "turn-arounds" in troubled organizations. Counsel emphasizes elevating staff to peak performance and working with leaders to increase insight and resiliency. Past clients include the University of South Carolina, Loyola Marymount University, North Carolina State University, Florida State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Central Missouri and the University of New Haven. Presently, S/P serves as counsel to the University of Colorado Boulder, SMU, the National University of Singapore and the University of South Florida . Recently completed assignments include LSU, the international business school HEC Paris, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Richmond. Additionally, have provided independent counsel and search services to The Better Angels Society before serving a three-year term on their Board of Trustees.
