My role started in the newly created Corporate Learning Manager position and evolved to include the role of Human Resources Manager at a time when the company was experiencing rapid growth. My duties included:• A key member of the Corporate Management Process Team that set long-term goals for the business. My team developed systems and best practices to achieve corporate goals in a manner consistent with the company’s core values• Served on the Performance Review Team along with the President and CFO. Evaluated the performance of all managers and salaried staff• Responsible for the professional development of managers and salaried staff, including creation of strategic plans to improve job performance and productivity.• Write, disseminate, update and administer policies in Employee Handbook• Review payroll data; negotiate benefits with plan providers; monitor COBRA; administer worker’s comp & unemployment claims• Work with division VP’s to devise and execute hiring, retention and succession strategies• Administer all visa applications and expatriate matters• Handle personnel issues with confidentiality and sensitivity• Conduct training sessions on union avoidance for plant supervisors• Conduct training sessions on compliance with collective bargaining agreement for supervisors in unionized plant• Negotiate and resolve union grievances• Create safety procedures & manage safety teams• Ensure compliance with all State & Federal employment laws and regulations

Operated a small law practice with concentration in Corporate, Real Estate and Employment Law while also acting as General Counsel to Flori Foods, Inc.
