I designed and led development of the multi-user internet. A 3D modeled virtual place where regular people go to meet others. They collaborate on projects. Have entertaining group experiences. Entertain others. Build businesses. And most importantly, they get paid for the value they create directly from the other users who benefit from their efforts.

Built and managed Ripple's integration engineering team. Architect and product manager for Ripple Connect, Ripple's enterprise product for banking. Member of Ripple's advanced research team. Co-inventor of several of Ripple's interledger protocol (ILP) technologies. (Selected patents below.) Worked directly with senior management at international banks and financial institutions to create a high speed network for cross currency, cross border payments using Ripple Connect and ILP technology.

Developing consumer centric web advertising technologies that enable digital content creators to receive easy payments without having to integrate advertisements into their creative works.

Developed a legal spend management system using Microsoft .Net technologies. The system is web based and utilizes SQL Server for data management. Re-implemented the domain model and created a service layer to simplify web integration.

Worked on a small team developing “tigo | search” a distributed search engine based upon Java J2EE web, and JXTA peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies. Designed and built the P2P distribution sub-system for the search engine. Managed the JXTA Search open source project. Designed, Built and patented an extensible help desk troubleshooting system.

Software development and consulting for several web startups and local businesses.

Short term assignment assisting the planning and scheduling of a Pratt & Whitney gas turbine power plant construction project. Primary responsibilities were establishing the construction headquarters, installing the computer network, creating inventory databases, and developing construction schedules.

Lead a group of thirty-two, including nine separate project teams. As chief architect, designed and implemented a three-tiered development framework based on Microsoft’s .NET technologies. Managed project teams using the framework to create an agency wide management/medical information system for the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs. System covers the needs of six nursing home facilities, the agency headquarters and its claims and benefits processing center. The integrated system is distributed across eight cities in Oklahoma, and completely replaces all of the agency’s existing computer systems. The solution employs .NET desktop, hand-held and web service technologies.

Chief Architect and development manager for Dynasty's second major product, the E-Container web application server. Represented the E-container product before customers during sales meetings and customer evaluations. Provided direct support to customer management during their development projects. Managed the eight member E-container development team. Designed DCOM, CORBA and TUXEDO interfaces which allows Dynasty stateless servers to be used by Visual Basic and Java clients. Designed an interface between the Dynasty application server and a third party Java/C++ GUI development tool. Supervised a team of five in developing and maintaining a multi-platform C++ GUI library. The library supports single code base development for Windows, NT, Macintosh, and X Windows. Implemented the Macintosh library. Developed the GUI for the Dynasty source level debugger. Created a high volume distributed event/message queuing mechanism for Dynasty applications.

Developed a set of cross platform Intelligent Computer-Aided Training (ICAT) authoring tools. The authoring tools run on a Macintosh. Products developed with the tools run on Macintosh, Windows or Unix using a portable ICAT interpreter developed in C++.The Intelligent Computer-Aided Training project received NASA's 1995 Software Technology of the Year Award.Led a group developing language training products for disabled children. Developed a Macintosh based, cell animation editor for building language products. The editor was implemented in C++ and made extensive use of off screen graphics, asynchronous sound and background tasks.

Designed and developed educational software under contract to NASA Headquarters and commercial software vendors.

Led a team of eleven programmers in developing an Intelligent Computer Aided Training architecture. The NASA customer adopted our architecture, and the associated operating procedure language for specifying training exercises, as the standard for all new ICAT development. Using our new techniques, the SpaceHab Trainer was successfully completed in one-third the development time of previous systems.Designed and co-implemented NASA's Intelligent Physics Tutoring system. Duties included initial concept specification, detailed design, C coding and program integration. Developed reusable code modules for the student model, inference systems, and message handler. Implemented the graphical user interface in C using Macintosh toolbox routines.Supervised a team of three literacy experts and two other programmers in developing a Macintosh based literacy evaluator. Implemented the Macintosh user interface using digitized sound and QuickTime video.

Investigated and helped design a FERC automated filing system. Implemented and documented a pipeline location control system. Maintained general ledger, treasury, and cost control systems.
